COVID and your pet

As COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, we have had more questions about the susceptibility of our pets to this virus. At this time, dogs, cats and other pets are not believed to be able to contract COVID-19 from humans or spread the virus to humans.

There have been 2 cases of dogs in Hong Kong that tested positive for the virus but neither ever showed any symptoms. If you are COVID positive, it is recommended to reduce contact with your pet (including hugging, petting and sharing food) similar to how you would isolate from other humans in the home.

If you are concerned about your pet and COVID-19, please call the clinic to talk with one of our staff (403-932-2370).
